Society Swimathon & Walk To Be Held On April 11
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda will host its ninth annual Swim-a-thon and Walk on April 11, at the Bermuda National Sports Centre Aquatics and Fitness Centre in honor of the late Stanley Ingham.
A spokesperson said, “April 11th, 2026, will mark the 9th annual Swim-a-thon and Walk of The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda [‘MS Society’] to be held at the Bermuda National Sports Centre Aquatics and Fitness Centre.
“The annual event is named after the Late Stanley Ingham as a fitting tribute to the Society’s former committee member and one of its biggest supporters, who sadly passed away in 2023.
“Over the years the event has grown into the Society’s main fundraising initiative in its calendar year. All funds go directly towards assisting members with the expenses associated with medications, physiotherapy, mental health therapy, accessibility equipment, education of its members, the medical profession and the public.
“The addition of the walk/run event in 2023 to run in parallel with the Swimathon, has proven to be extremely popular on the North field next to the pool, for members, their families, friends and anyone else just wanting some fresh air and exercise – and all for a great cause.
“Swimmers [individuals and/or teams] can participate, completing as many laps in the pool or on the field as they wish, at any time between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
