Volleyball Teams Continue Boston Qualifier
The Paradise Hitters 17 remained unbeaten on the second day of the Nike Boston National Qualifier, climbing to the top of Round 2 Pool 5 after a 2-0 win over SVC 17 Two, taking the sets 25-22 and 25-17.
In their second match against HOS 17U Orange, the Hitters won the opening set [25-6] before dropping the second. They secured the match in a tie-breaker, winning the final set [15-7]. The team concluded their Saturday schedule with a [2-0] sweep of CLASH 17, preserving their undefeated status heading into the final stages of the tournament.
The Big Wave Riders 18 faced a more difficult path in Boston, finishing the day with a combination of hard-fought wins and close losses. The morning session began with the conclusion of Round 1 Pool 7, where the team lost [2-0] to Mass Pats Boys 18 1 Tenacity. The opening set of that match ended [27-25] in favor of the opposition.
As the team moved into Round 2 Pool 2, they initially rallied with two consecutive wins:
- A straight-sets victory over Unity 18 Boys Gold Eagles.
- A [2-1] win against Legacy Boys 18 Premier Billy.
The momentum shifted in their final match against 603 United 18 Salem Black. Despite winning the first set [26-24], the Big Wave Riders lost the second [25-23]. The deciding set went to the Boston-based 603 United with a score of [15-13], leaving the Bermudian side to regroup for the upcoming phase of play.
