Bermudian boxer Andre Lambe said he expects his toughest test when he faces unbeaten American Pryce Sparrow in Galveston, Texas, on June 6.

Lambe [12-0] will defend his American Boxing Organisation North American welterweight title against 19-year-old Sparrow [5-0] at the Galveston Island Convention Centre in an eight-round co-main event.

Sparrow defeated Mexican Eduardo Hernandez Trejo [8-5] via unanimous decision in his previous outing in January.

“I’m excited about this fight,” Lambe told Bernews.

“Up-and-coming fighters like this usually don’t want to fight me. They’re trying to work on their record.

“I’m looking to get my ranking up, and this is the type of fight I’ve been looking for.”

The 30-year-old southpaw beat American Kendo Castaneda [21-13] by unanimous decision in Galveston in June last year.

“I learned a lot from my last fight because of the calibre of fighter he was,” said Lambe, who has been sparring with local professional Adrian Roach in preparation.

“My fitness is good and I feel like I’m in a great place right now.

“I’m looking to make a major push this year. I’m not looking past this fight, though.

“I’d like at least two to three fights this year and move up to ten rounds.”
