Carnival To Host Youth & Music Competitions
Carnival in Bermuda has relaunched its Singer-Songwriter and Kiddies Costume Design competitions for 2026, encouraging local creativity and youth participation ahead of the June festival.
A spokesperson said, “Carnival in Bermuda is excited to announce the return of two dynamic community initiatives as part of the 2026 festival calendar: the Singer-Songwriter Competition and the Kiddies Costume Design Competition. These programs are designed to celebrate local creativity, showcase Bermudian talent, and provide opportunities for community participation in one of Bermuda’s most anticipated annual events.
“Under the 2026 theme ‘Feel the Energy,’ both competitions will form part of the lead-up to Carnival in Bermuda, which takes place June 10–15, 2026, delivering six days of culture, music, entertainment, and celebration.
Singer-Songwriter Competition
“The Singer-Songwriter Competition invites Bermuda’s emerging and established vocalists, musicians, and songwriters to create and perform original music inspired by Carnival, island pride, culture, and celebration.
Who Can Enter?
- Bermudian residents aged 16 or older
- Emerging or established singers, songwriters, and performers
Competition Requirements
- Original songs only [no covers]
- Songs should reflect the vibrant spirit of Bermuda and Carnival
- Entry must be in Soca or Calypso style
- Maximum song length: 4 minutes
How to Enter
“Participants must:
- Record one original song in MP3, MP4, or WAV format
- Submit entries via email to events@carnivalinbermuda.com
- Use the subject line: Carnival Singer/Songwriter Competition Entry

- Full Name
- Contact Information
- Song Title
- Artist Bio [150 words maximum]
“Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their talents before live audiences and judges, while competing for prizes, recognition, and the chance to be part of Carnival in Bermuda festivities.
Kiddies Costume Design Competition
“The Kiddies Costume Design Competition offers Bermuda’s young creatives the chance to bring their imagination to life through Carnival costume design.
“For 2026, the competition theme is Bermuda’s Endangered Species, encouraging participants to draw inspiration from Bermuda’s unique wildlife and natural environment through bold, colorful, and imaginative costume concepts.
How to Enter
“Participants must submit:
- 1–2 original costume sketches [PDF or JPEG format]
- A short written description [150–300 words] explaining the concept
“Submissions should be emailed to events@carnivalinbermuda.com with the subject line:
- Kiddies Costume Design Entry [Your Name]
- Submission Deadline: Saturday, May 2, 2026
