DeSilva-Andrade Starts Competing In Montreal
The Montreal 2026 World Boccia Cup is underway, with Bermuda’s 2025 Female Athlete of the Year, Yushae DeSilva-Andrade, starting competition.
Competing in BC1 Female Pool A, DeSilva-Andrade entered the event ranked seventh in the world in her classification and faced Simona Blazkova of the Czech Republic, ranked 17th globally.
Blazkova produced a controlled performance to defeat the Bermudian athlete 6-2 in the opening match. Pool A also includes Japan’s Hiromi Endo and Israel’s Orit Kelner.
DeSilva-Andrade now continues her pool stage matches as she seeks qualification for the knockout rounds.
