Furbert & Munya Achieve Top Finishes In FHSAA
Bermudian athletes Zydon Furbert and Amaris Munya secured podium finishes for Montverde Academy during the FHSAA Class 2A District 6 Championships held at the Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys Stadium.
Furbert captured two gold medals, highlighted by a significant improvement in the boys 400-meter dash varsity. Entering the event ranked ninth with a previous best of 48.50 seconds, Furbert lowered his personal record to 47.82 seconds to finish first.
The Bermudian sprinter also won the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 22.43 seconds to earn his second individual title of the meet.
In the girls 800-meter run varsity, Munya placed second. She finished in 2:19.96, securing a silver medal and advancing to the regional qualifying stage.
