ILS Bermuda Appoints New Leadership For 2026
ILS Bermuda has confirmed that its flagship Convergence event will return from 12–14 October 2026 with new leadership appointments now in place.
A spokesperson said, “ILS Bermuda has confirmed that its flagship Convergence event will return from 12–14 October 2026, convening global leaders from across insurance, reinsurance, capital markets and the insurance-linked securities ecosystem for a programme of discussion, collaboration and forward-looking insight.
New ILS Bermuda Leadership Announced: Newly-appointed ILS Bermuda Chair Hanni Ali [CEO, Radix], Vice Chair Alex Conyers [Senior Vice President, Neuberger Berman] and ILS Education Committee Chair, Victoria Cunningham [Executive Director, Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies].
“In parallel, a series of leadership appointments signals both continuity and renewal within the ILS Bermuda Steering Committee. Hanni Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Radix ILS, has been appointed Chair, with Alex Conyers, Senior Vice President at Neuberger Berman taking on the role of Vice Chair. They succeed Jo Stanton, Chief Financial Officer, Tangency Capital, who steps down after five years as Chair, during which time she guided the organisation through the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic and played a central role in rebuilding engagement and momentum across the platform.”
“I am honoured to step into the role of Chair and to build on the strong foundation established by Jo Stanton, whose leadership has been instrumental in guiding ILS Bermuda through a period of significant challenge and renewal,” said Hanni Ali. “ILS Bermuda plays an important role in convening the global market, supporting innovation, and reinforcing Bermuda’s position as a leading hub for risk and capital. I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the industry to continue that work.”
“As a Bermudian professional with a decade in the ILS market, I am proud to be taking on this role and look forward to building on the strong foundations established by past colleagues,” said Alex Conyers. “The significant growth of the ILS market on the island over the last 15 years reflects the good stewardship and vision of the many leaders volunteering for ILS Bermuda. Their efforts have been instrumental in positioning Bermuda as a jurisdiction of choice for ILS risk transfer by championing prudent regulation, encouraging thought leadership, and expanding opportunities for aspiring Bermudians through our education initiatives.”
The spokesperson said, “Further reflecting ILS Bermuda’s long-term focus on talent development, the organisation has also announced a transition in leadership of its Education Workstream, a key initiative aimed at creating pathways for Bermuda College students into the ILS sector. Victoria Cunningham, Executive Director of the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies [BFIS], will assume the role of Workstream Chair, succeeding Tim Tetlow, who has been instrumental in building and advancing the programme in collaboration with industry partners.”
“The ILS Education Programme represents a meaningful opportunity to connect Bermudian students with a dynamic and globally relevant sector,” said Victoria Cunningham. “Through my work with BFIS, I have seen the importance of creating clear and accessible pathways from education into industry. I look forward to supporting the continued development of this initiative and strengthening the connection between Bermudian talent and opportunities within the ILS market.”
The spokesperson said, “As the ILS platform continues to evolve in step with a changing global risk landscape, planning for the 2026 edition is now underway, with ILS Bermuda inviting contributions from across the industry to help shape the agenda. A call for topic and speaker submissions has been issued, with a focus on ensuring that the programme reflects both the complexity of current market conditions and the opportunities emerging across the risk and capital spectrum.
“With Convergence established as a forum for thoughtful exchange and practical insight, ILS Bermuda is encouraging contributions that reflect both current priorities and future direction. “Suggested areas of focus include:
- Emerging risks and structural shifts in global markets
- Innovation in risk transfer and capital deployment
- Regulatory, geopolitical and macroeconomic developments
- The continued evolution of the ILS asset class
- Talent development and the future workforce
