Volleyball Team Defeat Cayman Islands
Bermudian beach volleyball players Olivia Gazzard and Sophie Weikl defeated the Cayman Islands and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NORCECA Under 18 Women’s World Championship Qualifiers in the Dominican Republic.
The duo secured a 2-0 win [21-12, 21-7] over the Cayman pair in the 14-nation tournament. This victory earned the Bermudians a highly challenging quarterfinal matchup against the number one seeded United States. Facing the top-ranked team in the event, Gazzard and Weikl delivered a competitive effort before being defeated 2-0 [21-8, 21-18.]
