Volleyball Teams Advance To Medal Matches
Bermuda’s volleyball teams will both compete for medals on the final day of the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association [ECVA] Championships in Tortola, with the women advancing to the gold medal match and the men set to contest the bronze medal match.
The women’s team have made a superb showing to secure their place in the final after defeating the British Virgin Islands 3-1 in their semifinal.
Bermuda won the opening set 25-18 before the British Virgin Islands levelled the match by taking the second 27-25. Bermuda then claimed a close third set 30-28 and won the fourth 25-20 to complete the victory.
The result guarantees Bermuda a medal — the only question is will it be silver or gold — with the team set to face Antigua and Barbuda in the gold medal match today.
In the men’s semifinal, St Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Bermuda 3-0, winning 25-18, 25-22, 25-20. Bermuda will now face Dominica in the bronze medal match this afternoon.
