Berkeley & Warwick Academy Win Basketball

The Warwick Academy gymnasium hosted the Bermuda School Sports Federation and Department of Youth and Sports Middle School Basketball Finals this week, with the Berkeley Institute and Warwick Academy securing wins across three finals.

In the Junior Varsity Final, The Berkeley Institute defeated Warwick Academy 22-20 in overtime. Jacob Furtado led Berkeley with nine points, while Liam Johnson also scored nine points for Warwick Academy. Furtado and Johnson were named joint Most Valuable Players.

Warwick Academy won the Varsity Girls Final, beating Saltus Grammar School 29-11. Jaime Cedenio led Warwick Academy with 11 points and was named MVP, while Belle Burns added eight points. Evie Hook led Saltus Grammar School with seven points and was named MVP for her team.

In the Varsity Boys Final, The Berkeley Institute defeated Warwick Academy 35-28. Troy Washington scored 12 points for Berkeley, followed by Ajani Carey with 11 points and Anson Robinson with eight points. Micah Oliveira was named MVP for The Berkeley Institute. For Warwick Academy, Max Kimberley scored 12 points and Quinton Husbands scored 10 points, and both were named MVPs for their team.

The results concluded the middle school basketball season in Bermuda ahead of the upcoming summer sports calendar.
