Bermuda To Play Cape Verde In Friendly Match
The Bermuda Football Association Senior Men’s National Team will face Cape Verde national football team in an international friendly on June 6, 2026, in Hartford, Connecticut, as part of Bermuda’s continued preparations for upcoming international competitions.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] Senior Men’s National Team will play the Cape Verde men’s team in an international friendly.
“The match is scheduled to take place on June 6, 2026, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
“This fixture follows Bermuda’s recent international preparation match against DR Congo in March and represents another significant opportunity for the Gombey Warriors to compete against elite international opposition. Cape Verde has secured qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026, becoming only the third-smallest nation by population to achieve qualification for the tournament, following Iceland in 2018 and fellow 2026 debutants Curaçao.
“The BFA views this match as another important step in the continued growth and development of Bermuda football on the international stage.
“BFA Technical Development Director, Maurice Lowe, reflected on the opportunity by saying: “This caliber of opposition reflects the progress our program continues to make and aligns with our ambitions for the future.”
“As part of the June training camp, Bermuda will also participate in a training match against Bermudian Khano Smith’s USL Championship side, Rhode Island FC, on June 3, 2026.
“The June camp forms part of Bermuda’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League competition and future international engagements.
“Further details regarding squad announcements and match information will be released in due course.”
