Jackson Langley Wins Winners Edge Time Trial
Bermuda Bicycle Association hosted the Winners Edge Time Trial on Sunday morning [May 17], with Jackson Langley recording the fastest overall time to win the A Category in 23:18.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Winners Edge Time Trial took place on Sunday morning, May 17, with riders competing against the clock on a challenging South Shore course.
“The individual time trial started on Stonington Avenue in Paget and followed South Road west to the Church Bay lay-by turnaround point before returning to the finish. Riders were started at 30-second intervals, with no drafting permitted in the traditional time trial format. The full course distance was 10.55 miles.
“Weather conditions were favourable throughout the morning, providing excellent racing conditions for all competitors.
“A total of 36 riders took part across A, B, C, Women’s, and Youth categories.
“Jackson Langley of VT Construction recorded the fastest time of the day, winning the A Category in 23:18. Dylan Eiselt of Winners Edge finished second in 24:47, with Gianluca Bortoli of Winners Edge taking third in 26:29.
“Stephen Ryan of BRCC claimed the B Category victory in 26:57 ahead of Geoff Smith and Forrest Chris Nusum. Ian Henderson of BRCC secured the C Category win in 26:43, ahead of Matthew Kenny and Neil MacGuinness.
“Ashley Couper of VT Construction won the Women’s Category in 28:04, followed by Naomi MacGuinness and Annabelle Miller. In the Youth Division, Madeleine Friend produced an impressive performance to take victory in the 11–12 category.
“The event ran smoothly from start to finish and was completed safely without incident. At the start line, one rider required a restart due to a mechanical issue, which officials resolved promptly before racing continued without further delay.
“The Bermuda Bicycle Association thanked the volunteers and officials who helped deliver the event, including Race Director Greg Hopkins, Race Official Anna Moniz, and Peter Dunne for timing services.”
