Bermuda women’s national team footballer Jahni Simmons impressed for Future Pro in their 4-2 penalty shootout win in the ECFA Under-21 National Cup final at the Crown Ground – the home of Sky Bet League Two side Accrington Stanley.

The competition began with 112 English teams.

Trailing 1-0, Future Pro equalised through Simmons before the break.

“I made a run in behind the defence, took a touch, and finished it in the top corner,” Simmons, who plays as a striker, said.

After the second half and extra time ended goalless, the match was decided by a penalty shootout.

Simmons scored the decisive fourth penalty to earn her team the win.

“I had a feeling when I picked number four that it was going to be the winning penalty,” Simmons added.

“I’m just glad I could convert it for my team.”
