Nonprofit Alliance To Host Uncharitable Screening

May 28, 2026 | 0 Comments

The Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda [NAB] will host a public screening of the groundbreaking documentary Uncharitable on Thursday, June 4 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI], inviting the community to take part in an important conversation about the future and sustainability of the nonprofit sector.

A spokesperson said, “Based on the influential work of social entrepreneur and author Dan Pallotta, Uncharitable challenges long-standing assumptions about how nonprofits are funded, evaluated, and expected to operate. The documentary explores the impact of commonly held beliefs surrounding administrative costs, fundraising expenses, and nonprofit compensation — and how those expectations may unintentionally limit the sector’s ability to create meaningful, sustainable change.

“The screening form part of NAB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Bermuda’s nonprofit sector through advocacy, education, leadership development, and public engagement. The documentary has sparked international discussion by questioning whether the sector’s traditional focus on minimizing overhead and administrative spending has come at the expense of innovation, talent retention, infrastructure, and long-term effectiveness. Community members, nonprofit professionals, funders, board members, students, and anyone interested in social impact are encouraged to attend.”
