Constable MacNab successfully completed the NPCC Police Dog Instructors Course in narcotics, cash and firearms detection at the West Midlands Police Dog Training Centre in the United Kingdom, with the BPS noting that she is the first female Police Dog Instructor within the Bermuda Police Service

The Bermuda Police Service posted the photo below online, saying, “Constable MacNab has successfully completed the NPCC Police Dog Instructors Course [Narcotics, Cash and Firearms Detection] at the West Midlands Police Dog Training Centre in the United Kingdom.

The Bermuda Police Service said, “This specialist instructor course provided advanced training in the development, deployment and management of police detection dogs, focusing on instructor level competencies such as canine behaviour, scent detection principles, training methodologies, operational standards and assessment procedures.

“Having successfully completed the programme, Constable MacNab is now qualified to train, assess and develop police detection dog teams to nationally recognised standards, further enhancing the operational capabilities of the Bermuda Police Service.

“This achievement is especially significant as Constable MacNab becomes the first female Police Dog Instructor within the Bermuda Police Service. Her dedication, professionalism and commitment to excellence continue to break barriers and set an inspiring example for others.
