‘Dancing Under The Stars Bermuda Ballet Gala’

International ballet and contemporary dance artists will join Bermudian dancers and performers as the Dancing Under the Stars Bermuda Ballet Gala 2026 returns with a week of performances, workshops and cultural events in July.

A spokesperson said, “With the support of leads sponsor Rosewood, Dancing Under the Stars Bermuda Ballet Gala 2026 will return this summer with an elegant international production designed to place Bermuda within a wider conversation about culture, artistic excellence, youth development, and destination-based performance.

“Scheduled from Sunday July 19 to Saturday, July 25, 2026, the production will bring together internationally recognized ballet and contemporary artists from leading companies including The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Dance Theatre of Harlem, The American Ballet Theater, Hungarian National Ballet and the Dutch National National Ballet alongside emerging Bermudian ballet talent and local creative participation.

“Set against Bermuda’s natural beauty and cultural prestige, Dancing Under the Stars Bermuda Ballet Gala is being developed as more than a performance. It is an immersive cultural experience combining classical ballet, contemporary movement, storytelling, music, and visual artistry in a refined setting intended to appeal to residents, visitors, arts patrons, families, sponsors, and young aspiring performers.

“The 2026 production will include two Dinner performances at Rosewood, a Gala evening, General Performance and a Children’s Matinée at the Earl Cameron Theatre.

“A free Classical Ballet and Contemporary youth engagement workshop designed to expose Bermuda’s young people to the discipline, professionalism, and possibility of world-class artistic practice are also on the schedule.”

Organizers, Sophia Cannonier and Michael Watson, said the event reflects a broader vision for Bermuda’s cultural growth.

“Bermuda can host cultural experiences of international quality. Dancing Under the Stars is about creating a platform where Bermudian and global talent, local inspiration, and youth exposure meet. It is elegant, but it is also purposeful. We are showing young people that excellence is not distant. It can be experienced, learned from, and imagined right here at home,” they said.

A spokesperson added, “The production arrives at a time when Bermuda is increasingly exploring how cultural programming can contribute to tourism, education, community engagement, and national identity. Organizers believe events of this nature can help strengthen Bermuda’s position as a destination not only for leisure, but for sophisticated arts, heritage, and creative exchange.

“In addition to the performances, Dancing Under the Stars Bermuda Ballet Gala seeks to build lasting value through artistic collaboration, youth exposure, sponsor engagement, and public appreciation for classical ballet as both an art form and a discipline.”
