LOM World Oceans Day Student Art Winners

LOM Financial announced the winners of its World Oceans Day Student Art Competition, celebrating the creativity of Bermuda’s young artists while highlighting the importance of ocean conservation.

A spokesperson said, “The competition, held in partnership with the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, invited students across Bermuda to create artwork inspired by Bermuda’s ocean and why it matters for future generations. Entries were judged by representatives from Masterworks, who were impressed by the creativity, effort and thoughtful messages reflected in the students’ work.

“The winners are:

Age 6–10 Category

  • Oliver, Age 6 – “Whale of a Time”
  • Logan, Age 10 – “Bermuda Sea Animals”

Age 11–18 Category

  • Arohi, Age 11 – “Beneath the Sea”
  • Seri, Age 16 – “White Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, Dead Fish”

“As part of their prize, each winner will receive a sponsored place in the Masterworks After School Programme. The programme includes a full term of ten sessions, providing young artists with an opportunity to further develop their creative talents under the guidance of experienced instructors.

“The winning artworks will be displayed on the windows of LOM’s Burnaby Street office in Hamilton, transforming the building for the community to enjoy. In addition, selected pieces are also displayed in our reception for the month of June.”

Kristen Halbert, Global Head of Marketing at LOM Financial, said, “We were incredibly impressed by the imagination, talent and thoughtfulness shown in the entries. Through their artwork, these students have captured both the beauty of Bermuda’s ocean and the importance of protecting it.
