Daniel Phillips Opens With Straight-Sets Victory
Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips opened qualifying at the M15 Kayseri tournament in Turkey with a straight-sets victory over Latvia’s Aleksandrs Sotikovs.
The 21-year-old won the first qualifying-round match 6-1, 6-2 on outdoor hard courts.
Phillips controlled the match throughout, dropping just three games as he advanced in the qualifying draw.
