Fire Wayne Wins Singer Songwriter Contest
Carnival in Bermuda launched their 2026 celebrations with a Family Fete at Harbour Nights last night [June 10], with talented local musician Fire Wayne winning the Singer Songwriter Competition.
A spokesperson said, “Carnival in Bermuda officially kicked off its 2026 festivities on Wednesday, June 10, with its Family Fete at Harbour Nights, bringing together residents and visitors of all ages for an evening celebrating local music, culture, and community.
“One of the evening’s highlights was the highly anticipated Singer Songwriter Competition, which showcased some of Bermuda’s most talented artists performing original music in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric, with attendees enjoying live entertainment and the opportunity to support local talent.
“Audience members were also given the opportunity to vote for their favorite performer, with Fiyah Marshall taking home the Audience Choice Award, earning the support of spectators through his performance and stage presence.
“Following deliberation by the judges, the official competition results were announced:
- 1st Place – Fire Wayne with Influence of Carnival
- 2nd Place – Aalai, last year’s competition winner, with Feelin’ Ah Feelin’
- 3rd Place – Abede Matthews with Soca Simon Says
“In addition to securing first place, Fire Wayne also received the Production Award, recognizing the overall production quality of his submission.
“Carnival in Bermuda organizers praised all of the participants for the exceptional level of talent displayed throughout the competition.”
“The talent showcased this year was truly outstanding,” organizers said. “The competition continues to highlight the incredible creativity within Bermuda’s music community, and we’re grateful to every artist who participated and shared their work with us.”
A spokesperson added, “While the Singer Songwriter Competition may have concluded, Carnival in Bermuda 2026 continues throughout the weekend with several exciting events still to come.
“Upcoming events include Jammin’ Still, the popular pre-road cooler fete, and Pan in the Park, a free family-friendly event taking place at Victoria Park featuring local performers, vendors, and cultural entertainment.
“The festivities will conclude on Monday, June 15th with two of Carnival in Bermuda’s most anticipated events, JAM J’Ouvert and Revel de Road, which will bring thousands of revelers together for a celebration of music, culture, and Carnival spirit.
