Summer Sunday City Funday Set For July 12

The City of Hamilton has announced the return of its free Summer Sunday: City Funday event, bringing an afternoon of live entertainment, family activities, games, food and summer fun to Victoria Park on July 12.

A spokesperson said, “Why settle for an ordinary Sunday when you can enjoy a City Funday? The City of Hamilton is inviting residents and visitors to Victoria Park on Sunday, July 12, for the return of Summer Sunday: City Funday, a free afternoon packed with live entertainment, family activities, food and summer fun.

“Taking place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the popular community event will transform Victoria Park into a hub of activity with live entertainment, free carnival-style games, inflatables, giant games, ziplining, splash attractions, competitions and a wide variety of local food and beverage vendors.

“The entertainment line-up includes performances by Prestege, Soul Standard Band and the Phoenix Gombey Troupe. Ed Christopher and Power Girl Patrina Paynter will host the festivities, while DJ Scoobay keeps the energy high throughout the afternoon.”

Lorna Hayward, Senior Events Coordinator for the City of Hamilton, said: “Summer Sunday is all about bringing the community together and creating an afternoon where families can relax, have fun and make memories. Whether you’re racing through the activities, enjoying the live entertainment, cooling off in the splash zone or sampling some of Bermuda’s fantastic food vendors, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike to Victoria Park for a wonderful day of summer fun.”

• “Live Entertainment: Enjoy performances from Prestege, Soul Standard Band and the Phoenix Gombey Troupe, with music from DJ Scoobay throughout the day.

• “Games & Prizes: Test your skills at carnival-style games including skeeball, ring toss, cornhole, porkchop speedway, frog hop, golf putt and more. All games are free to play, and participants can collect tickets to redeem for prizes.

• “Thrills & Activities: Take on the zipline, giant slide, go-karts and a variety of inflatables and giant games.

• “Cool Down Zone: Beat the summer heat with sprinklers, water attractions, misting fans and splash-filled fun.

• “Local Flavours: Enjoy a wide variety of food, snacks, sweet treats and refreshing drinks from some of Bermuda’s favourite vendors.

• “Family Fun for All Ages: From toddlers to grandparents, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

• “Community Spirit: Support a great cause through activities benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda.

“Admission as well as all games and activities are free. The rain date for the event is Sunday, July 19.
