Trinidad Defeat Tennis Team At Billie Jean Cup

Bermuda’s national tennis team suffered a 3-0 defeat against Trinidad & Tobago in the Billie Jean King Cup Americas Group III tournament.

The loss came across two singles matches and one doubles match on the clay surface.

In the opening singles rubber, Trinidad & Tobago’s Solange Skeene defeated Bermuda player-captain Shelby Madeiros 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Madeiros won the first set before Skeene won the final two sets to conclude the match in 1 hour and 54 minutes.

Trinidad & Tobago secured the overall tie victory in the second singles rubber. Jordane Dookie defeated Bermuda’s Nadhira Durham 6-0, 6-1 in a match that lasted 50 minutes.

In the final doubles rubber, Dookie and Anneliese Rose of Trinidad & Tobago defeated the Bermudian pairing of Alexcie Burrows and Asia-Leigh Hollis 6-0, 6-1. The match lasted 41 minutes, completing the sweep for Trinidad & Tobago.
