Volleyball Teams Start Competing In Juan Dolio
Bermuda’s beach volleyball teams opened pool play at the sixth stop of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, with four matches on the opening day.
In the Men’s Division, Kyle Hamilton and Sean Tucker were involved in two three-set matches in Pool B.
The Bermudian pair opened against Irving Reyes and Jairo Gálvez of Honduras, falling 26-24, 18-21, 15-10 after forcing the match into a deciding third set.
Hamilton and Tucker then faced Alexander Wilmore and Ramón De Jesús of the Dominican Republic, winning the opening set before eventually losing 19-21, 21-13, 15-9.
In the Women’s Division, Megan Hands and Natalie Gazzard competed in Pool D, where they faced teams from Costa Rica and Guatemala.
Hands and Gazzard were defeated 21-16, 21-10 by Costa Rica’s Marcela Araya and Eugenia Ramírez. They later took on Guatemala’s Paola Alvarado and Daphne Mendoza, falling 21-18, 21-8.
The Juan Dolio event is the sixth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, with preliminary-round matches followed by the qualification round and quarter-finals.
