Bermuda Earn Win At Junior Squash Event
Bermuda’s junior squash team defeated the British Virgin Islands before losing to St Vincent & the Grenadines on the second day of the 2026 Junior Caribbean Squash Championships at the Tortola Sports Club.
The results followed Bermuda’s opening-day matches, while the girls’ team was relegated to the 7th-9th place playoff bracket after missing out on the main draw.
Bermuda opened the day with an 8-4 victory over the British Virgin Islands.
In the Under-11 division, Remy Horsefall defeated Toby Freeman 11-1, 11-2, 11-6. In the Under-13 division, Mason Smith lost to Jakob Noblett in straight games, while Benjamin Sherratt defeated Devon Mellor 11-1, 11-3, 11-5.
Michael Schrah won his Under-17 match against Iain Cruickshank in straight games, conceding six points. William Frith secured the team victory with an 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 win over Zevieh Abraham in the second Under-19 match.
Bermuda then lost 8-4 to St Vincent & the Grenadines.
Benjamin Sherratt won his Under-13 match against Savante’ Padmore 11-3, 11-6, 12-10, while Mason Smith defeated Ethan Webster 11-1, 11-1, 11-2 in the Under-15 division.
Zavin Garrick defeated Remy Horsefall in the Under-11 match, and Jayden George beat Owen Rosorea in the Under-17 division.
In the Under-19 matches, Aiden DeFreitas defeated William Frith, while Jaydon Williams beat Eli Carpol 13-11, 8-11, 12-10, 11-5 to secure the overall team victory for St Vincent & the Grenadines.
