Police Warn Again About Fraudulent Calls
The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] warned the public about fraudulent callers impersonating local bank representatives and attempting to obtain personal banking information.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service has been advised that members of the public continue to receive phone calls from individuals purporting to represent local banks.
“These individuals are reportedly then telling the call recipients that there have been fraudulent transactions on their accounts.
“They then claim to be calling to assist with having this addressed and asking for personal banking information.
“Please be advised that bonafide bank representatives, will not ask for personal banking information over the phone.
“Should you receive such a call with someone asking for this information, please immediately hang up.
