Bermuda Triathletes Compete In Chile

Bermudian triathletes Tyler Smith, Nicholas Pilgrim, Oliver Hayward and Jackson Langley represented the island at the 2026 Americas Triathlon Championships Antofagasta in Chile, with Smith leading the contingent by finishing eighth in the Elite Men’s Division.

Smith completed the Olympic-distance course in 1:48:16. He exited the 1.5km swim in 18:49, recorded a 56:39 split on the 43.2km bike course, and finished with a 31:37 time for the 10km run.

In the Under-23 Men’s category, Pilgrim finished 25th with a total time of 1:55:17. He completed the swim in 19:03, followed by the bike and run legs.

Hayward and Langley competed in the Junior Men’s Division, which followed a sprint distance consisting of a 750m swim, 21.6km bike and 5km run.

Hayward placed 36th overall with a time of 1:00:48, while Langley was listed as DNF.
