Ex-Artillerymen’s Donates $1,000 To LCCA

The Ex-Artillerymen’s Association has donated $1,000 to the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association [LCCA], with proceeds from its annual Mother’s Day Luncheon supporting the local charity.

A spokesperson said, “The Entertainment Committee of The Ex-Artillerymen’s Association held their annual Mother’s Day Luncheon on Sunday May 10th, 2026. As in previous years we have once again donated to a worthy charity. This year’s recipient of $1,000 was The Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association or better known as the LCCA. The presentation took place at The Ex-Artillerymen’s Association located at 72 Victoria Street on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our annual event which enables us to donate to a deserving charity.”

The LCCA said, “We are truly grateful that the Ex-Artillerymen’s Association chose the LCCA as a recipient of the proceeds from the Mother’s Day Luncheon. Organizations such as yours have supported the LCCA throughout the years, helping us continue our work in the community, and for that we are deeply thankful.

“Every donation makes a meaningful difference in the life of a family facing hardship. Your generosity will help us continue providing assistance to those who need it most.

“I have also sent a formal thank-you note in a separate email expressing our appreciation to the Association and its members.

“Please extend our sincere thanks to the Entertainment Committee and everyone who supported the event. We are honoured to have been selected and greatly appreciate your ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.”

A spokesperson said, “The LCCA was established in 1932 by Lady Cubitt, wife of the Governor at the time, and incorporated in 1945 with the objective “to relieve poverty, suffering, distress, and to promote happiness and well-being amongst those in our community who are less fortunate.”

“Today, the commitment continues and these objectives remain with the LCCA.

“The LCCA provides programmes of service to our island, being:

“The General Assistance Programme and the Patient Overseas Financial Aid Programme.

“The General Assistance Programme assists those in need both financially and emotionally providing the: Senior Cataract Consultation Assistance Programme; Nursing Home Resident Assistance; Seniors Dental Programme; Summer Camp Programme; BELCO Vouchers, Medications; Special Assistance and the Lady Swan Memorial Award.

“The Patient Overseas Financial Aid Programme is for interest free loans to help cover: For Health Insurance Dept. policy holders: For HIP policyholders; For FutureCare policyholders; 100% coverage of air ambulance transfers; additional overseas medial services not covered by HIP and Future Care.
