HSBC Appoints Paul Shaw As CIO
HSBC has appointed Paul Shaw as Chief Information Officer for Bermuda, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man as part of its continued focus on technology and customer experience.
A spokesperson said, “HSBC has appointed Paul Shaw as Chief Information Officer [CIO] for Bermuda, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, as part of the Bank’s ongoing focus on leveraging technology to improve the customer experience, support its business strategy and ensure continued alignment with regulatory requirements.
“Paul succeeds Errol Boyes-Varley, who is retiring from HSBC after a 31-year career, and we thank him for his outstanding contribution and dedicated service to the Bank and our customers.
“In his new role Paul will lead in the delivery and execution of all technology services across the islands, playing a pivotal role in driving investment in innovation to support customers and employees across the regions.
“Since joining HSBC in 1996, Paul has held a range of business and technology roles in the UK, the Middle East and Jersey. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer – Data Technology MENAT and Europe, based in Dubai.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Shaw said: “I am genuinely excited about this new role. The opportunity in Bermuda, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man for technology to deliver a material benefit to the business and our customers is significant.
