Bay Crowned Eastern Counties Champions
The final round of the Eastern County Cup ended in a draw after rain delayed the start of play between St David’s and Bailey’s Bay at Lord’s yesterday [August 29].
The result means holders Bay retain the Eastern Counties Cup.
The match was reduced to 48 overs per side, with Bay scoring 218 for nine after losing the toss.
Captain Terryn Fray top-scored with 83 from 101 balls, hitting six fours and a six.
Delray Rawlins added 35 and Rodney Trott made 30, while Seth Campbell was St David’s leading bowler with four for 40 from 12 overs.
St David’s reached 122 for four from 27.3 overs before the match ended.
OJ Pitcher was unbeaten on 50. Macai Simmons added 38.
Kyle Hodsoll took two for 28 from 7.3 overs for Bay.
