BHS Celebrates Impressive IB, A-Level Results

Bermuda High School announced the results of their 2026 International Baccalaureate Diploma and A-Level cohort.

Interim Head of School Martina Harris commented, “We are proud of our recent graduates and their accomplishments. Their hard work, perseverance, and determination have been rewarded, and they should be justifiably proud of what they have achieved. We wish them every success as they take their next steps and pursue their ambitions in higher education and beyond.”

Deputy Head of School Paul Bennett added, “When I met this remarkable cohort of students at Graduation, they stood out as funny, articulate, confident, and caring individuals. Today, they pair these exceptional personal qualities with an impressive set of IB and A-Level qualifications. As they embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys, they are undoubtedly equipped to become the future leaders who will shape our rapidly changing world.”

The spokesperson said, “The IB Diploma pass rate for the 2026 BHS cohort was 90%, above the worldwide average of 82%, with 20% of these students achieving ‘elite tier’ marks – above 38 points. The top students’ results and university destinations are below:

• Gabrielle Smith – McGill University, Canada, Commerce
• Alyssa Mnushkin – McGill University, Canada, Mechanical Engineering
• Annabelle Davidson – University of Exeter, UK, Geography
• Sophie Kulkarni – University of California, Santa Cruz, USA, Biological Sciences
• MaKayla Abbott – University of Bath, UK, Politics & International Relations

“BHS’s second set of A-Level graduates achieved impressive results, with 100% achieving three or four A-Levels. Included in these results were impressive A* grades for the particularly challenging Psychology exams and A* grades for the Cambridge International Project Qualification. The top students and their university destinations are below.

• Emily Henshilwood – Royal Holloway, University of London, UK, Politics & International Relations
• Kayla Calveley – University of Exeter, UK, Psychology”

Head of the Senior Years Programme and IB Coordinator Sarah Wheddon remarked, “The Class of 2026 has continued the School’s tradition of academic excellence, and I am grateful to the teachers and families whose support and guidance were vital to the students’ success. We are especially proud that 100% of the graduating class will be attending their first-choice university. I wish the students safe travels and smooth transitions as they begin the next part of their educational journeys.”

The spokesperson said, “The Class of 2026 have a diverse range of interests, talents and career plans for the future, and they are heading off to universities in Canada, the USA, and the UK. Some of the disciplines to be studied include Psychology, Biomedical Science, Geography, Musical Theatre, Zoology, Mechanical Engineering, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Biology, Commerce, Marine Biology, and International Relations.

“Students studying in Canada will attend Acadia University, Carleton University, McGill University, the University of Ottawa, and Western University.

“Graduates going to the USA will attend Pennsylvania Western University and the University of California, Santa Cruz. In the UK, students are enrolled at the University of Bath, the University of Exeter, the University of Leeds, the University of Reading, the University of West London, Swansea University, and Royal Holloway, University of London.”
