Chelsea Defeat Nahki Wells & Luton Town
Bermudian striker Nahki Wells entered the game as second-half substitute as Luton Town lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge yesterday [Aug 27].
Wells replaced Callum Marshall in the 78th minute, with Luton trailing 1-0 following Danny Welbeck’s headed goal in the 50th minute.
Chelsea doubled their advantage one minute after Wells entered the match when Estêvão’s effort deflected off a Luton defender and was recorded as an own goal.
The victory sent Chelsea through to the third round, where they will face Leeds United.
