Court: Requerme Remanded In Custody

Ma. Theresa Jeremias Requerme has been remanded into custody following an appearance in Magistrates’ Court in connection with extradition proceedings.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions previously confirmed that Bermuda “received an official request from the Government of the Republic of the Philippines seeking the provisional arrest of Ma. Theresa Jeremias Requerme, a Filipino national who is wanted in the Philippines in connection with a charge of murder.”

Local officials stated that the “request relates to criminal proceedings before the Regional Trial Court of the National Capital Judicial Region in Quezon City, Philippines.

“Philippine authorities allege that Ms Requerme was involved in the killing of Mauricio Ramirez Pulhin in Quezon City on 15 June 2025. A warrant for her arrest was issued by the Philippine court on 24 September 2025.

“These are allegations made in criminal proceedings in the Republic of the Philippines.

“Ms Requerme has not been convicted of the offence, and nothing in the extradition process should be regarded as a determination of her guilt or innocence.

“Following receipt of the request from the Philippine authorities, the matter has been processed in Bermuda in accordance with the relevant laws.”
