RFG For 1 Million Gallon Water Reservoir Work
The Government is inviting quotations from experienced contractors to refurbish a 1 million gallon Reservoir 1 in Prospect, which is 225ft long 33ft wide 26ft deep.
The procurement notice was published by the Ministry of Public Works and Environment’s Works and Engineering Department, and the submission deadline is on September 23rd.
The notice said, “This Request for Quotations [the “RFQ”] is an invitation by the Government of Bermuda to prospective respondents to submit quotations from experienced Contractors to construct a concrete liner to the walls and floor of a 1 million gallon Reservoir 1, Fort Hill Road Prospect. This work involves the demolition of existing divide walls followed by the Construction of reinforced concrete Floor Slabs [5No Discrete Sections with sealed construction joints] and Walls [12No Discrete Sections with sealed construction joints]. The work also includes various other works including two new access stairs and final concrete coating. The purpose of this work is to create a water tight storage reservoir.
“The existing Reservoir is 225ft long 33ft wide 26ft deep. All work is to be carried out under the supervision of a Registered Engineer.
“This Proposal involves:
- “Demolition of existing divide walls and preparation of existing tank.
- “Construction of Reinforced concrete slab and walls in 5 discrete sections
- “Repair to Existing Beams and new tank outlet.
- “Install two FRP staircases for access.
- “Apply concrete coatings to all finished surfaces exposed to stored water.”
