Hopkins Wins Opening Stage In Guadeloupe
Kaden Hopkins made a winning start to the Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe, claiming victory in the opening individual time trial, while fellow Bermudian Nicholas Narraway finished fifth.
The 75th edition of the race began on Friday [July 31] with an 11.9-kilometre individual time trial around Petit-Canal.

Representing Atom 6 Bikes–Cycleur de Luxe–Auto Stroo Continental Team, Hopkins completed the course in 14min 3.75sec, averaging 50.82 kilometres per hour. He finished just 0.58sec ahead of Bogdan Zabelinsky to win the stage and claim the first yellow leader’s jersey of the tour.
Narraway, representing Competitive Edge Racing, completed the course in 14:24.42 to finish fifth. He was 20.67sec behind Hopkins and enters the second stage in fifth place in the general classification.
The race features ten stages over ten days, running from July 31 through August 9, with eight road stages and two individual time trials. Hopkins leads the standings heading into the first road stage, while Narraway is also positioned inside the top five.
