Rudy Bailey Wins Comet Class Championship
Bermuda’s Rudy Bailey has won the 2026 Comet Class Yacht Racing Association International Championship at the Corsica River Yacht Club in Centreville, Maryland.
Sailing Equalizer, the Bermudian sailor and his crew Tyler Hartswell, finished the six-race series with 12 net points after recording two first-place finishes, two thirds and a fourth, with his other fourth-place result discarded.
Jessica Gruskos placed second with 15 points, while Corsica River Yacht Club sailor Wick Dudley finished third with 17 points.
Fellow Bermudian Gregory Wade finished 12th in the 15-boat fleet with 47 points.
The championship was held from August 27 to 30, with the official results listing six completed races.
