Penruddocke & Kempe Win Medals At CAC
[Updated] Bermuda’s sailors delivered outstanding performances at the Central American and Caribbean Games, with Adriana Penruddocke capturing the gold medal and Sebastian Kempe winning a bronze.
Penruddocke made an outstanding showing throughout the entire competition to finish the ten-race women’s series with 14 net points, claiming the gold medal, which marks at Bermuda’s first gold medal of these games. Mexico’s Elena Oetling Ramirez claimed silver with 18 points, while Puerto Rico’s Marina Escudero Negron secured bronze with 28 points.
Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe won the bronze medal in the men’s sailing competition at the Central American and Caribbean Games, finishing the ten-race series with 25 net points. Puerto Rico’s Pedro Luis Fernandez Gamboa claimed gold with 20 net points, while Saint Lucia’s Luc Franck Leo Chevrier secured silver with 22 points.
Bermuda now has a total of five medals in these Games, which are being hosted in the Dominican Republic, as in addition to these two medals in sailing, triathlete Tyler Smith won a medal and swimmer Jack Harvey won two medals.
