DJ Rusty G is set to return to the Notting Hill Carnival in London for another year, with the Bermudian DJ set to entertain crowds at the event, which is the largest Carnival in Europe and attracts over a million attendees.

He will perform at events throughout Carnival week from Thursday [August 27] through Monday, when the main celebrations take place.

Rusty G has been involved with the event for several years and has been part of the international DJ circuit since 2015.

“I guess word of mouth, getting around people, people caught wind of what I do – that’s been my career in a nutshell,” he told Bernews.

“There are tons of events that go on around the Carnival, which I’ll be involved with.

“Omnia Mas Band and Reign Mas Band are two separate groups that hit the streets on Carnival Day – I’ll be with them.”

Notting Hill Carnival is one of Europe’s largest street festivals and takes place in West London over the August bank holiday weekend.

The event celebrates Caribbean culture through music, dance, food, costumes and a large street parade.

It has become a major fixture in London’s cultural calendar, attracting large crowds to the streets of Notting Hill.

Rusty G said he regularly encounters Bermudians during the celebrations.

“I always see at least one Bermuda flag every year,” he said.

“I end up meeting Bermudians who saw me on a flyer and have come out to support me.

“It’s always great to see Bermudians come out especially on the Monday [the Adults’ Day Parade] – you get millions of people in the street, so when I look up and see a Bermudian flag, I’m like: ‘Yep, there we are!’”
