‘Bermuda Castaways Of 1609′ Book Released
Based on the 1609 wreck of the Sea Venture, Ted Hill’s new book — The Admiral’s Island: The Bermuda Castaways of 1609 — recounts what is described as “one of history’s most remarkable stories of leadership, survival, and unlikely discovery.”
The book’s synopsis said, “In 1609, a fleet of ships sails from Plymouth carrying the last hope of the struggling Jamestown colony such as supplies, settlers, and a new governor all under the command of Admiral Sir George Somers. Nine days into the crossing, a hurricane finds them.
