Video: Wells Scores As Luton Beat Gillingham
Bermuda’s Nahki Wells scored as Luton Town recorded a 3-0 victory over Gillingham in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Saturday.
Wells opened the scoring in the 43rd minute after receiving a through ball from Jayden Luker. The Bermudian controlled the pass inside the penalty area before calmly directing a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Wells was also involved in Luton’s second goal in the 59th minute, with goalkeeper Owen Mason saving his low effort before Benedict Benagr converted the rebound.
Gideon Kodua completed the scoring with a close-range header in the 78th minute as Luton advanced to the second round of the competition.
