Labour Day Holiday Garbage Collection Advisory
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment is advising that due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday September 7, 2026, household waste collection will follow a roll-over schedule.
A Government spokesperson said, “On roll-over weeks waste collection days move over by one day resulting in waste normally collected on Monday being collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s waste on Wednesday, ending with Friday’s waste being collected on Saturday.
“Residents should place their household garbage out by 7:30 a.m. on their revised collection day.
“There will be no change to recycling collections, as next week is not a scheduled recycling collection week.
“The Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off will remain open on Labour Day, Monday, 7 September, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
