Minister Hayward: ‘This Is About Solidarity.’
Minister Jason Hayward has urged his supporters to wear PLP shirts on Monday, rather than Team Hayward t-shirts, saying “let us show that we believe in the Progressive Labour Party” as “this is about solidarity”
In a message sent out to his supporters and via his public WhatsApp channel, Minister Hayward said, “To all those individuals who are supporting Team Hayward, I want to thank you for your ongoing support, but I am humbly asking you to please do not wear your Team Hayward t-shirt on Monday. Please wear your PLP t-shirt. Monday should not be about Team Hayward or our campaign. It should be about us standing in solidarity with our party, our movement, and our party officers who are being dragged before the courts.
“We are all members of one movement, and whatever our differences may be within the party, we must never lose sight of the fact that the PLP is bigger than any one individual, one campaign, or any one internal disagreement. So on Monday, I want us to put on our green t-shirts and stand together. We cannot afford further division. Let us show that we believe in the Progressive Labour Party. Let us show solidarity with our officers. Let us demonstrate that when our party is under pressure, we stand together.
“This is not about Team Hayward. This is about the PLP. It is about our movement. This is about solidarity. So please wear your PLP t-shirts. Come out, stand together, and let’s show the strength, dignity, and unity of one labour movement. Thank you all, and I’ll see you on Monday.”
