Sarah Cross Wins Buckingham Athlete Award
Bermudian rugby player Sarah Cross has won the High Performance Athlete award at the University of Buckingham Students’ Union’s 2026 Sports and Societies Awards in the UK.
The ceremony recently took place at the Leonardo Hotel in Milton Keynes, England, serving to honour a number of the University’s top athletes
Cross was one of three finalists for the award, as previously reported by Bernews in July. Her rugby achievements have included representing Bermuda internationally and also playing for the Buckingham Swans in England. She contributed a try and a conversion to Bermuda’s women’s national team’s 67-32 victory over the Cayman Islands at the National Sports Centre North Field in July.
The university’s annual Sports and Societies Awards recognise the achievements of club and society members over the preceding 12 months.
