Golfers Continue Competing In Myrtle Beach
Ann Symonds moved into first place and David Abraham climbed to second as Bermuda’s golfers completed the second round of the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship in South Carolina.
Symonds, competing in Flight 53 of the Women 59 and Under division, recorded a gross 78 and net 71. Combined with her opening net 75, the round gave her a two-day net total of 146 and a one-stroke lead.
Angela Cook posted a gross 93 and net 81, improving from a tie for 22nd to a tie for 18th with a cumulative net score of 161.
In Flight 22 of the Mid Senior Men 60–69 division, Abraham followed his opening gross 83 and net 78 with a gross 78 and net 72. His cumulative net score of 150 moved him from a tie for 18th into second place.
Antony Than recorded a gross 96 and net 91, leaving him tied for 45th with a two-round net total of 170.
Tracy Burgess shot an 82 in Flight 52, the Women’s Gross division. Added to her opening 79, the round gave her a total of 161 and left her tied for seventh.
Ann Mitchell recorded a gross 93 and net 84 in Flight 55 of the Senior Women 60 and Above division. She completed the second round tied for 18th with a cumulative net score of 163.
In Flight 44 of the Super Senior Men 70–79 division, Gary Venning improved by 14 strokes on his opening gross score of 105, recording a gross 91 and net 81. He moved from 48th into a tie for 38th with a cumulative net score of 175.
Richard Marriott carded a gross 83 and net 82 in Flight 9 of the Senior Men 50–59 division. He remained in 49th place with a two-round net total of 168.
