Chess Cast Recording To Be Released On CD
Offering theatre fans a physical keepsake in the digital and streaming era, the 2025 Broadway cast recording of Chess, featuring Bermudian Tony Award nominee Nicholas Christopher, will be released on CD and vinyl on Friday, September 4.
BroadwayWorld reported that the physical editions will include complete lyrics, colour production photography, a synopsis and liner notes and more.
The recording was released on digital and streaming platforms in April, with the official album page providing links to the various services.
Christopher performed as Soviet chess champion Anatoly Sergievsky on the recording, alongside Aaron Tveit and Lea Michele. The cast also includes Hannah Cruz, Bryce Pinkham, Bradley Dean and Sean Allan Krill.
Christopher’s recording of “Anthem,” the song which closes the first act of the musical, was released ahead of the complete digital album, with Bernews previously carrying video of the performance.
The talented Bermudian received a 2026 Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his portrayal of Anatoly, and a video of his performance in the production attracting more than 12 million views across social media.
