X-Roads Football Teams Impress At Virginia Cup
Bermuda’s X-Roads Warriors delivered a strong showing at the 18th annual Virginia Cup in the U.S, with the club’s Under-11 team finishing as runners-up in its division and the Under-17 side securing second place in its group.
The tournament, co-hosted by FC Richmond and Virginia Legacy Soccer Club, featured more than 300 teams competing across several age groups and divisions.
The X-Roads Under-11 team concluded its group campaign with a 2-0 victory over FC Richmond Pre-MLS NEXT Navy. The win took the Bermudian side to four points and earned them a place in the divisional final.
X-Roads faced Virginia Velocity FC U11 Vortex in the final, with the Virginia team claiming the title following a 5-2 victory. The result saw the young Warriors complete their overseas campaign as division runners-up.
The club’s Under-17 team also ended the tournament on a positive note, recording a 3-1 win over Virginia Legacy SC N1 2009/2010 Boys Elite. The victory lifted X-Roads to six points and secured second place in their group, completing a successful tournament for the travelling Bermudian squads.
