BMRA St John Ambulance Trophy Races Held

The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association’s St John Ambulance Trophy races saw close competition at Bermuda Motorsports Park on Sunday, with several class championships now set for tense finishes with two race days remaining.

A spokesperson said, “Close to 100 spectators turned out at Bermuda Motorsports Park on Sunday, 4 October, as the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association hosted the St John Ambulance Trophy races, with clean sweeps from Cheng-Hsien Ning in the Scooters/Street Bike class and Carter Burgess and Len Macedo in the minibike classes, and a tightly fought Open field. With just two race days left in the 2026 season, several class championships are now headed for a tense finish.

“Carter Burgess was unstoppable, winning all three of his races. Dezi Degrilla-Tucker took second place in the class.

“The Scooters/Street Bike class, open to any street-legal bike with no engine modifications, was hotly contested, with battles running from the front of the field to the back, but Cheng-Hsien Ning swept all three races to claim the first-place trophy. Gordon Smith took second, while nine-year-old Carter Burgess capped a remarkable day by bringing it home in third against the bigger machines.

“Kannen Morris-Dickinson and Nevaeh Edwards shared first-place honours, with Ed Cook second and Carlston Burgess securing the third-place trophy.

“With two race days remaining, the penultimate round shapes up as a decider in the class championships, with podium positions still up for grabs across the board. In MIR 110cc Novice, Len Macedo’s sweep has taken him to the top of the standings, but only three points clear of Pharaoh Crockwell, setting up a straight fight for the title. Carter Burgess holds a commanding lead in MIR 110cc Expert, while just two points separate Jesston Thomas and Dezi Degrilla-Tucker in the battle for second. Cheng-Hsien Ning leads the Scooters/Street Bike standings from Carter Burgess, with Jesston Thomas, Carlston Burgess and Dezi Degrilla-Tucker locked in a close fight for the podium places behind them. In the Open class, Bruce De Grilla Jr leads comfortably from Kannen Morris-Dickinson, while just ten points separate Romano Ramirez, Ed Cook and Billy Dunn in the fight for third.
