Lost Memorial Bench Found In Bermuda
A memorial bench swept away from Florida’s Gulf Coast by Hurricane Helene in 2024 has resurfaced nearly two years later on a beach in Bermuda, according to FOX Weather.
A FOX Weather story said, “A memorial bench dedicated to a Florida father was thought to be lost forever after Hurricane Helene battered Florida’s Gulf Coast in 2024 — until it resurfaced on a beach in Bermuda nearly two years later.
“Amanda Sadiku’s father, Medhat “Mike” Sadiku, passed away September 3, 2012, and in 2018, a memorial bench dedicated to her late father was installed on the Dunedin Causeway on the waterfront of Florida’s Gulf Coast.
“Hurricane Helene’s devastating impacts in North Carolina dominated headlines two years ago, but the storm first made landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast, battering the Tampa area with powerful surf, damaging winds, heavy rain and storm surge — and sweeping the deeply sentimental memorial bench into the Gulf.”
