Attired in a Westgate orange sweatsuit ensemble, 33-year-old Quincy Brangman sat in the prisoner’s enclosure in this morning’s [May 10] Plea Court facing a charge of possessing cannabis in an Increased Penalty Zone – namely inside Westgate Correctional Facility. In Magistrates Court this morning [Mar.21], before Magistrate Khomisi Tokunbo, 29-year-old Durnell Smith pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis on August 22nd 2011. Ministry: Prison Van Is Licenced
A prison van displaying a licence that expired weeks ago is actually licenced a Government spokesperson said, however the van’s sticker had not been replaced. Date Set For Inquest Into Inmate’s Death
In October 2009, 37-year-old Westgate inmate Keno Outerbridge died whilst incarcerated at Westgate Correctional Facility. This morning [Nov.7], over two years later, Magistrate Juan Wolffe set January 9, 2012 as the date for a Coroner’s Inquest which he said should be held before a jury.
