Bermudian David Cash Named Endurance CEO

david cash endurance bermuda ceoBermudian David Cash will take over as Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd new CEO on March 01, becoming one of the few Bermudians to head up one of the islands major insurance companies.

The son of John and Pamela Cash, David Cash was born on March 11, 1965. He attended Saltus Grammar School, graduating in 1975 and going on to college in Britain and Canada. A 1988 Rhodes Scholar, he obtained a Msc. in mathematics from Oxford University. While at Oxford, he was the captain of both the university swim and water polo teams.

He presently lives in Southampton with his wife Judy Lansberg and three children; Alex, Lindsey and Lachlan.

Mr. Cash has been with Endurance since its founding in 2001, serving as the Company’s Chief Actuary/Chief Risk Officer, President of Endurance’s Bermuda operating company and as the Company’s Chief Underwriting Officer.

Mr. Cash is scheduled to speak at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Insurance Conference in New York on February 23. The event will be webcast live here on Veracast at 10:10am Bermuda time.

Forbes lists Mr. Cash’s 2008 total compensation at $1,999,591.00.

The present President and CEO of Endurance Kenneth J. LeStrange will retire effective March 1, 2010 when Mr. Cash will officially take over.

Mr. LeStrange launched Endurance in 2001 after raising approximately $1.2 billion from investors. The company went public in 2003. Endurance writes property/casualty insurance and reinsurance through underwriting operations in Bermuda, New York and London. Recently Endurance reported record net income of $536 million for 2009 on net written premiums of $1.61 billion.
