Pan American Hockey: Uruguay Beats Bermuda

2010w_youth2The Bermuda U/17 Girls Hockey Team was bested by Uruguay 8-0 at the 2010 Pan American Youth Championships yesterday.

This was the second game of the tournament for the Bermudians, with the Uruguayans having home field advantage since the event is being hosted in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The first game the Bermuda team played was against the USA, with the Americans winning 11-0.

Bermuda was scheduled to compete against Chile, Uruguay, and the United States. With two matches down, Bermuda will play its final pool game against Chile on tomorrow, March 16.

After those two matches, Bermuda will play two qualification matches on March 18 and 20th, and return to Bermuda on March 23rd.

The Bermuda team are the youngest team at the tournament, with an average age of under 16 years old.
