Premier Brown Meets With Standards & Poors

Premier Dr. Ewart Brown met with representatives of financial analysts Standards & Poor’s yesterday [May 4] at the Cabinet Building. Representing Standards and Poors was Nikola Swann, Director of Public Finance Sovereign Ratings and Trevor Cullinan Associate Director of Sovereign Ratings.

The Premier said:

Bermuda’s AA rating is on par with Japan and other developed countries. Our debt matrix is good and Bermuda has a long history of stable governments. We welcome Standard and Poor’s representatives to Bermuda and will continue to take all necessary steps to maintain our standards as a world class jurisdiction.

Standard & Poor’s is a global leader in providing ratings and credit-related services for sovereign, sovereign-supported entities and supranational issuers.
